  SERIES RP-RF100 RADIO COMMUNICATION MODULES

Series RP-RF100 communications modules can be supplied, optionally, into all series RP-1500 beacons, allowing serial radio communications with the beacons as far as up to 1.000 metres with direct antenna view between modules. These modules can replace expensive and/or difficult wiring, emulating a serial communications channel as if there was a wiring link (transparent serial radio link).

As each of the series RP-1500 beacon has two serial ports, each one can be added up to TWO RP-RF100 modules, but each one should operate in a different channel to avoid interference.

Radio communication link is stabilised under 433 MHz or 902 MHz Band, license free under the actual power emissions of the modules.

Series RP-RF100 modules can be supplied in two versions: one for installing INSIDE the beacon's casing and another for external installation (for the communications of the beacons with other hardware, like terminal RP-2000 for instance). The main function these modules were designed for, is enabling a communications link between external earth fixed beacons and on-board equipment, so the beacons can communicate with any serial internal device inside the train. For instance, the system may also want to know, further than the physical train number read by the beacon, the "logical" number of the train (in Spain, ALWAYS keyed in by the driver before departure). Thus, serial radio link between on board terminal and the beacon can be done!. Of course, any other communication with any other on-board device can be also considered.

Radio communication can be bi-directional, so communications can be started by the beacon or by the external equipment (terminal RP-2000, for instance).

Common Features

Common features to all series RP-RF100 are:

Following you can find the different RP-RF100 models and its main features:

RP-RF100-XXX Models

This model is the internal version, that is installed INSIDE the series RP-1500 beacons. Compact and low power consumption. Can be supplied in both 433 MHz. (RP-RF100-433) and 902 MHz. (RP-RF100-902) bands. As main features:

RP-RF110-XXX Models

This is the external version, for connecting any RS232 serial device with the series RP-1500 beacons or to any other RP-RF100 module. Can be supplied in both 433 MHz. (RP-RF110-433) and 902 MHz. (RP-RF110-902) band. Main features are:

This model is available separately, if it wants to be installed for controlling any other serial device. Even they can be also used for beacons radio link, if mounted externally and even at some distance from the beacon.

External power supply is NOT included.
